This homemade salad dressing is super versatile with a nice balance of sweet, sour and great flavors. Honey is the sweetener, Dijon mustard adds flavor and body, and lemon adds refreshing acidity. Instructions for Making Honey Mustard Dressing

It doesn’t get any simpler than this. Put the lemon juice, mustard, honey, salt, and pepper in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Add the olive oil and continue whisking until the mixture looks smooth. Use right away or store in the refrigerator.

Yes, you can substitute the same amount of vinegar such as champagne vinegar, white wine vinegar, or red wine vinegar for the lemon juice.

What other variations are there to make my own salad dressing?

Ingredients
  • ½ cup Lemon Juice (about 3-4 lemons)
  • 1 ½ tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 ½ cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
  1. Whisk together the lemon juice, mustard, honey, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the oil and whisk to combine.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning to your liking.

  4. Use right away or refrigerate and use as needed. The dressing will separate in the refrigerator the oil may solidify. When you need to use the dressing allow it to warm up at room temperature and whisk all the ingredients back together and you are ready to go!
