You can use any serving tray or platter you already have as the base of this DIY Thanksgiving table decoration. Below are a few I found on Amazon-
You will also need some natural elements, such leaves, berries, or succulents, a few pinecones, and some Spanish moss (used here) or mixed moss like these. You don’t need to use everything listed here, feel free to improvise with what you have!
I also made some “bleached pinecones” without using bleach! Here’s the tutorial on how to make them in 5 minutes, the non-toxic way.
How to make “bleached pinecones” without using bleach in 5 minutes!
Step 1: add the first layers to your DIY Thanksgiving table decoration centerpiece
Line the bottom of the tray or platter with a layer of leaves. Leathery leaves will last longer than soft leaves.
The Spanish moss is optional, but it add such a nice texture and makes it easier to add more layers on top.
Step 2: add more layers to the DIY Thanksgiving table decoration centerpiece
Making a beautiful centerpiece is all about harmony and contrast.
In this case, the blue green of the Eucalyptus looks lovely with the yellow green succulents and berries. In cold climates, you can find different color conifers and mix them up. The textures of clusters of little berries form beautiful contrasts next to the thick succulents and large Eucalyptus leaves.
Step 3: final touches
I love the look of bleached pine cones, especially for fall and winter decorating. However, I am sensitive to the smell of bleach. Here’s a tutorial on how to make “bleached pinecones” without using bleach (a super kids friendly craft and decor)! Aren’t they beautiful?
After adding some white and natural pinecones, I added a couple of mini butternut squashes to complete our DIY Thanksgiving table decoration centerpiece. At this time of year, all the little mini pumpkins and squashes are just irresistible!
You can easily carry this centerpiece on and off the table. Feel free to use any large plates or trays you already have in the kitchen. I will share a few DIY table centerpieces with other color variations in a few weeks.

It’s a lovely centerpiece, but it’s me or the link to see how the bleached pineapples are made without chlorine doesn’t work?. I tried to whiten them with bleach But it didn’t work at all. I would love to know your technique, they look very beautiful and look beautiful in the center you’ve prepared. I would very much like to make one the same. You have amazing and great things, thank you.

What lovely centerpieces. You can’t go wrong with a wooden dough bowl like you had at the start. Those are so neat. Love the one with the fall colors that best.
