  5. These gardening ideas are so brilliant! I’m impressed by the espalier fruit tree the most, what a great way to decorate the blank wall.

  6. Great ideas!! We already are doing the T-pee idea with our pole beans. Easy to pick the beans. Poles are reusable. The gord, squash idea sounds interesting. Watermelon?

    • hi beverly, watermelon would be so interesting! they might need extra support for each melon, i have see ones like little hammocks 🙂

  8. These are beautiful and productive. We’ve been verticalizing with great results (usually) for the past 10 years, and have never looked back.
How do you keep the squashes from cross pollinating themselves into “whazzat”?

    • hi jonathan! saving squash seeds is quite a process when mixed varieties are planted. since the seeds of one squash is more than enough for the home gardener and they last a few years, i would just isolate a few blossoms or plant one away from the others. =)

  9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this… Sooooooo creative!!! Although I am curious if making a smaller version to turn it into a sort of hanging planter and trying vine tomatoes would work. I’d be hanging them on the deck we’re building now. A few days ago I bought a bag with 10 strawberry roots?!?! My first time seeing them, I’ve only seen bulb plants, onions and root veggies sold like this but I’m giving them a try. I started a palet garden a few weeks ago with so many different types of veggies and herbs so I think this and maybe a hanging one would be a great addition to the bunch.

    • hi katie! sounds like you are having a blast! 🙂 one thing i learned about intensive container gardening is to keep them watered as frequently as one can. happy growing!

  10. The grass sofa is incredible. I definitely want to do that. think it would be an amazing structure for an outside wedding or something!

  11. Those are such beautiful examples of how nature is stunning and versatile. Particularly the gourd corridor (although I’d be afraid that a gourd might fall and hit me in the head :x) and the chair tree – THAT is a time-tested labor of love. I really like the bean tee-pee idea because 1) it can be grown in one season, and 2) it makes picking the beans much easier! So cute!
