12 Free Mandala Coloring Pages and 5 Artist Best Tips
I truly believe that everyone is an artist! These 12 beautiful mandala coloring pages are for all of you who wants to slow down, savor life, and indulge in your creative hobbies.
These mandala coloring pages are also perfect for making your own monthly calendars for your home or as gifts, one mandala for each month of the year! =)
In addition, I want to share a mini tutorial and some artist tips on how to have more fun with your mandala coloring pages!
The hidden benefits of mandala coloring pages.
Mandalas are considered patterns of the cosmos. If we observe closely, we see them in almost everything from a small flower to the infinite galaxy.
The activities of drawing and painting mandalas have been used as a meditation for centuries to clear the mind and to connect with our inner peace and happiness.

5 artist tips on creating beautiful mandala coloring pages:
Tip 1 . Start with what inspires you.
No need to start at the center! You can start any where. Pick a spot in the design that catches your attention first, and pick a color that you feel inspired to use as a starting point.
Tip 2 . Don’t limit yourself to just one material when coloring mandalas.
Use any materials you like, and mix them up! Color pencils, watercolor, ink pens, makers, acrylic, etc, can all be used for coloring, and no rules say you can only use one kind in each painting!
Below are some of my favorite art supplies for coloring mandalas:
amzn_assoc_placement = “adunit0”;
amzn_assoc_search_bar = “true”;
amzn_assoc_tracking_id = “apieceofrainb-20”;
amzn_assoc_ad_mode = “manual”;
amzn_assoc_ad_type = “smart”;
amzn_assoc_marketplace = “amazon”;
amzn_assoc_region = “US”;
amzn_assoc_title = “Favorite Coloring Supplies”;
amzn_assoc_linkid = “15532e970bb3d7b5c5ffd8ba01607da7”;
amzn_assoc_asins = “B075WTC5SB,B000OZMSYC,B074XC3TGW,B0027PA1AU”;
I prefer a thicker paper to print these coloring pages out (download link at the end) , like this great card stock you can get on Amazon . I have used it on most of the paper craft projects you see here, such as this 3D 2018 printable calendar!
Tip 3 . White is a color.
We often assume white means NO-colors, when in fact white is a very important color! It looks great next to all other colors, and adds brilliance to a painting.
Tip 4 . It’s all about harmony and relationships.
Colors are like musical notes, it is not so much about a single note, but more about how each note sounds next to one another.
Sometimes less is more. A few colors working in harmony together will radiate and appear color-FULL.
Tip 5 . Take pictures during the process, and don’t be afraid to mess up!
We all encounter fears in a creative process. For example, I liked the mandala coloring page to the right in the photo below, but I was wondering what if I add more blue to it?
I could sense the fear of “ruining it”. Then I took a picture so I have a record, then told myself: “just print another one if this one is ruined!” and as you can see in the next photo, the blue mandala came out very pretty, right?

I love colouring, I find it so relaxing and it helps me to focus and not have my brain run away on me. I have seen a few mandala colouring calendars in the stores but have resisted the temptation thus far – I still have quite a few illustrations to get through in my current colouring books. Fab photos with the post 🙂
