Farmhouse 5-Minute July 4th Decorations ( Almost FREE! )
4th of July is going to be here in no time! Today I am sharing some super cute and easy farmhouse style July 4th decorations ( also great as Labor Day decor ) with you! They can be made in minutes, they are practically free, and need no storage.
You can use them as July 4th party decor, centerpieces, table or mantle decorations, and more! Sounds like a plan?
We love to change and refresh home decor with the seasons. We also love a spacious uncluttered home, which means the less stuff to store, the better. These farmhouse style DIY July 4th decorations are made easily with simple and free materials like tin cans and paper! You can recycle them or reuse them after July 4th or Labor Day, and make new ones in minutes next year!
Check out the video tutorial below!
Materials and tools to make easy farmhouse DIY July 4th decorations:
( Some of the helpful resources are affiliate links. Full disclosure here. )
- Empty tin cans and / or glass jars from your recycle bin: I used three 28 oz (794g) cans
- Scissors, paper, scotch tape or double sided tape. If you want to make the mason jar lights, you can use these LED fairy lights.
- Regular 8.5″x11″ paper and any home printer. You can download the free printable designs at the end!
How to make up-cycled tin can July 4th decorations:
Print the designs, measure the tin can or jar height and cut the paper accordingly. The 28oz cans are 4.5″ tall.
Starting at one end of the paper, tape the paper and wrap it around to the other side, use clear scotch tape to secure both ends.
Because the 11″ long paper is not long enough to wrap around the entire can, cut an extra piece and tape it to finish the open side. That’s it! Wouldn’t these be great last-minute patriotic decorations?
Optional: if you plan to keep these labor day or July 4th decorations outside for a few days, brush some Modpodge or spray a clear sealer like one of these over the paper will make it more moisture resistant.
I am using these July 4th decorations as centerpiece vases for the table. The white roses and purple pea flowers are perfect in a farmhouse setting. They would look wonderful on a shelf, a mantel, or even on door steps!
These July 4th mason jar lights / Labor Day Decorations here are made from the same printable designs! You can use them to add some magic glow to your July 4th gathering easily.
