Two minutes are all you need to make this set of 4 lovely butterfly and flower candle holders! Can DIY get any easier?

I LOVE vintage illustrations of flowers and butterflies, so I composed 4 designs with both!

And of course, you can download them for free at the end to make your own beautiful frosted luminaries! ! =)

Remember these DIY dimensional paper flower lanterns?

Well, today’s DIY is even easier, and just as pretty!

Materials:

  • glasses with straight sides: we used 11-ounce clear glasses that measure  3 1/2″ tall x 3 1/4″ in diameter.
  • vellum paper
  • Double sided tape, or clear tape
  • in addition , we will use  LED tealight candles to make them glow

Step 1:

Print out the designs on 8.5×11 paper, and cut them to match the height of the glasses.

  1. I am having trouble downloading the images as well. I subscribed and can make it to the project page, but when I click download nothing happens.

  2. I GIVE UP, BUTTERFLY FLOWER CANDLE HOLDER IS NO WHERES I CLICK FOR DOWNLOD.

WISH YOU COULD TELL ME WHERE TO CLICK TO DOWNLOAD IT.

    • hi Yvonne! it’s a zip file, so when you click download, it’s either automatically saved to a folder on you computer(check the download folder), or blocked by browser like firefox, which you have to click “allow pop-up” 🙂

      • Ananda, the Butterfly Flower Candle Holder file still doesn’t download. The link is broken. It’s NOT automatically saving to a folder NOR is it blocked by my browser. The link is broken at your end. Please fix. These are beautiful! Thank you!

  3. HI.. I know it’s been years since this project came out, but I want to try it. But, I can’t get the designs to download. I keep getting a message that says it can’t be downloaded safely. Everything else I have downloaded from here has worked great.
    Thanks for the idea! Linda

    • hi Linda! sometime you get this kind of message with zip files. i think if you use firefox, there’s an option to “allow pop-up” or something, which should work! 🙂

  4. Hi there. So… are the flowers actually printed onto the vellum?

I can’t see any instructions stating this.Did your glass come with the gold rim?

    Cheers

    • hi ava, yes the flowers are printed onto the vellum. the gold rim is the reflection of the candlelight, but that is a great idea, i might paint them gold! 🙂

  5. Hi, I am not able to find the vintage flower and butterfly download to make the tealight candle holders. I have been a subscriber for some time now.

  6. I joined several months ago. I went to get the free download and nothing happens. It take me to a page wanting me to join. How do I get the free downloads?

  7. Hi!
I am a subscriber but I followed the steps to obtain the printables for the candles and I didn’t work. I didn’t get a confirmation email either (I checked all my folders too). Can you please send me a link?
    Thank you!

    • hi troy, thanks for the great question! i have found that vellum is hard to glue together, but if you could give it a try, or, if you don’t need the “frosted” look of vellum, regular paper will work with mod podge. =)
