2-Minute Butterfly & Flower Candle Holders
Two minutes are all you need to make this set of 4 lovely butterfly and flower candle holders! Can DIY get any easier?
I LOVE vintage illustrations of flowers and butterflies, so I composed 4 designs with both!
And of course, you can download them for free at the end to make your own beautiful frosted luminaries! ! =)
Remember these DIY dimensional paper flower lanterns?
Well, today’s DIY is even easier, and just as pretty!
Materials:
- glasses with straight sides: we used 11-ounce clear glasses that measure 3 1/2″ tall x 3 1/4″ in diameter.
- vellum paper
- Double sided tape, or clear tape
- in addition , we will use LED tealight candles to make them glow
Step 1:
Print out the designs on 8.5×11 paper, and cut them to match the height of the glasses.
Step 2:
Wrap them around each glass and secure with tape.
Step 3:
Put a LED tea candle in it!
…. That’s it?!?

hi Trudi! we just emailed you some info 🙂
I am having trouble downloading the images as well. I subscribed and can make it to the project page, but when I click download nothing happens.
hi Erin, there is a red button in each week’s newsletter, which will take you to all downloads 🙂
I GIVE UP, BUTTERFLY FLOWER CANDLE HOLDER IS NO WHERES I CLICK FOR DOWNLOD.
WISH YOU COULD TELL ME WHERE TO CLICK TO DOWNLOAD IT.
hi Yvonne! it’s a zip file, so when you click download, it’s either automatically saved to a folder on you computer(check the download folder), or blocked by browser like firefox, which you have to click “allow pop-up” 🙂
Ananda, the Butterfly Flower Candle Holder file still doesn’t download. The link is broken. It’s NOT automatically saving to a folder NOR is it blocked by my browser. The link is broken at your end. Please fix. These are beautiful! Thank you!
hi Janet! it opens up as a zip file with 2 image files inside. we just sent you an email as well! 🙂
HI.. I know it’s been years since this project came out, but I want to try it. But, I can’t get the designs to download. I keep getting a message that says it can’t be downloaded safely. Everything else I have downloaded from here has worked great.
Thanks for the idea! Linda
hi Linda! sometime you get this kind of message with zip files. i think if you use firefox, there’s an option to “allow pop-up” or something, which should work! 🙂
Hello, I tried to print with vellum paper but it doesn’t seem to work with my printer. Any advice? Thanks!
hi Donna! i haven’t run into issues, but this article have some good tips depending on what problems you might have experienced: https://www.lcipaper.com/kb/printing-vellum-tips.html
Hi there. So… are the flowers actually printed onto the vellum?
I can’t see any instructions stating this.Did your glass come with the gold rim?
Cheers
hi ava, yes the flowers are printed onto the vellum. the gold rim is the reflection of the candlelight, but that is a great idea, i might paint them gold! 🙂
Hi, I am not able to find the vintage flower and butterfly download to make the tealight candle holders. I have been a subscriber for some time now.
hi! did you click the red button in the newsletter (just came out ) and got to the page with all downloads?
Quick question: Can I use real tealight candles?
Thanks!!!
hi christy, yes you can! 🙂
I joined several months ago. I went to get the free download and nothing happens. It take me to a page wanting me to join. How do I get the free downloads?
hi judy, A button at the bottom of each newsletter takes you to all downloads, And here- enjoy the dowload page http://www.apieceofrainbow.com/creative-fun/ 🙂
Hi!
I am a subscriber but I followed the steps to obtain the printables for the candles and I didn’t work. I didn’t get a confirmation email either (I checked all my folders too). Can you please send me a link?
Thank you!
hi christy, here- http://www.apieceofrainbow.com/creative-fun/
btw, it shows you have been getting the weekly newsletter, and a button at the end link to all downloads! check promotions folder! =)
Instead of just tape, wouldn’t it be better to use mod podge and permanently secure the images to the glass?
hi troy, thanks for the great question! i have found that vellum is hard to glue together, but if you could give it a try, or, if you don’t need the “frosted” look of vellum, regular paper will work with mod podge. =)
These cuties are absolutely gorgeous!! I could totally see myself using this just as decoration, and not even to light up because they are so stinking adorable 🙂
That’s it?! These look so pretty! Great job!!!
Beautiful Ananda. Thank you for sharing 🙂 xx
